Way Station Instruments

The Brakeman

The Brooklyn Doctor Who themed bar, the Way Station, commissioned this steampunk cigar box guitar. It’s a Davidoff Double R box decked out with a spigot volume knob and a clockwork tone knob. Skeleton key bridge. Copper piping. Spent .22 bullet shell fret markers. Clock gear side fret markers. Gold frets and hardware. Maple neck. Red oak fingerboard.

Every now and then I like to branch out of the stringed instrument world. Here is a washboard I designed and built for the Way Station. Patina Way Station logo on the copper face. Attached cowbell, kazoo holder and soup cans.

Power Plant ~ Mandocello

IMG_2493

This was commissioned by a gentleman who works at a power company. He loves Pink Floyd so I figured the Battersea Powerplant would be a good piece of decoration for this particular instrument. It has a piezo pickup with aluminum volume and tone knobs. I also wired up a pair of light bulbs to a 9 volt battery and on/off switch for a little extra flair. Maple neck and fingerboard.
